Bryce Favors: New Balance Nationals Indoors
Bryce Favors, a senior at Eastern, is in New York as I write this. He is attending New Balances Nationals Indoor, the indoor national championship for high school track and field! He qualified for high jump where he jumps over 6’4”. His teammate, Luke Hoover, stresses about how competitive this meet is. Luke Hoover said, “This meet is where the elite of the elite go.”
According to New Balance themselves, New Balance Nationals is when they host more than 3,500 of the country’s best track and field student-athletes from 40+ states and Canadian provinces all of them looking to run, hurdle, jump, throw and walk their way to titles and All-American honors in 48 boys’ and girls’ Championship events plus 40 more Emerging Elite and Freshman events.
With the all the adrenaline running through, Bryce said his goal for the weekend is to have fun and hopefully break Eastern’s indoor High Jump record. Along with that, he expresses all his excitement to see the historic Armory track facilities and to visit New York City. As outdoor season approaches, he is aiming to finish top 3 at state in the 200m and 400m and get first place in High Jump while breaking the school record for the 200m and High Jump along the way.
Everybody here at Eastern would like to wish Bryce Favors a GOOD LUCK and a lot of support.
