Eagles News · Cheer places 4th at State

The Eastern cheer leading team followed up Region 7 championship victory with 4th place finish at Kentucky State Competition.

The team competed against 15 teams in the extremely competitive small varsity division which included the defending Universal Cheerleading Association’s National Champions.

For months leading up to this event, the EHS cheerleaders trained diligently increasing their stunting and tumbling difficulty and perfecting their routine execution. Their hard work was truly showcased in their state performance where they earned the highest score of all JCPS schools in attendance, and one of the top scores in the state; out scoring the second place finishers in the super large, large, and medium divisions.

The Eastern Cheerleaders were honored to represent region 7 at the KHSAA Cheerleading State Competition, and were thrilled to become the first cheer team in the history of the school to podium at this event.

The team will continue to work hard these next few weeks and aim to push the limits as they prepare for the 2018 National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando Florida. Their Goal is to place top 5 in the nation at this competition!

Good luck Eastern Cheer!
